Inglewood, California has become the focal point of many developments over the past 2 years. 2 NFL teams, new stadium, new casino, LA Clippers,
Crenshaw, Century, Florence, Imperial, Manchester and Prarie are changing rapidly everyday (If your not a from Inglewood, those are the main streets that intersect throughout the city). You can’t drive anywhere and not notice all of the new construction, businesses and even people! How does one keep up? The Facebook group “Eye On Inglewood” is the place to go.
If you’re not a member of this facebook group, you’ve been missing out. There is so much going on here that you will never be bored. I consistently visit to get the scoop on various topics around Inglewood and the neighboring cities. With nearly 10,000 members, it has brought the community together with an almost family like atmosphere (and yes, there family aguments too that will have eating popcorn while reading).
Site founder and administrator, Halimah Ginyard (halimahginyard@EyeOnInglewood.com), consistently posts about local news, businesses, jobs, helpful programs and other vital information that helps everyone. I’ve seen posts from dogs getting found, law breakers identified to political debates. If it happens in Inglewood, it’ll be posted in this group.
Another attribute that’s great about EOI is that city officials are engaged and listen. City employees, administrators and even Mayor James T. Butts answer questions to educate individuals on city information and issues. That is very cool!
On December 12, 2017, Eye On Inglewood held its first holiday event (pictured right) at the District 2 Community Center located at 1201 La Tijera Blvd in Inglewood. Many people attended and had a great time. In attendance was the Mayor of Inglewood, James T. Butts, Inglewood police chief, Mark Fronterotta, Inglewood District 2 Councilman Alex Padilla, a host of local businesses and various schools from the surrounding area. It was an amazing time for all that came to experience it. We are looking forward to what is coming next.
